Today the ocean turned into land. We arrived at Oahu (Honolulu) at 8:00am and will be leaving at 10:00pm tonight. We had to dock at a secondary location because another HUGH Princess ship was berthed where we might have been right by the Aloha Tower. Such is life; you have to bow to the bigger sometimes.

Our last full day at sea before docking in Hawaii. There has been entertainment all the way but today’s was a bit more fun. Two of the kitchen staff brought a number of fruits and vegetables to the casino bar and gave a demonstration of food art. The two, in 35 minutes, created six different characters made from various bits of food. The only non-food item was the wood sticks they used to hold the characters together.

Even though the Pacific Princess is the smallest ship in the Princess fleet, the food onboard had been both good and ample. Of course we are only four days out as I write this but I think the quality should continue as it has been.

After the LA Harbor we started to get into rolling seas and, apparently overnight the first night, we went through a small storm area as the ship was rocking and rolling with some nasty “slaps” as we went over a a crest and down into the following trough. Those woke me up. I really can’t say how long I slept as it seemed like I heard the water slapping against the side of the ship all night long. Yet, suddenly I turned over, saw some sun peeking around the curtain, and the clock said 8:30am.
