The ship stopped twice in India with a day at sea between the ports of Cochin and Mumbai. There was an excursion I took that had us disembark in Cochin, travel to Dehli via air, travel to Agra the second day by train with return to Delhi, and travel by air from Dehli to Mumbai to rejoin the ship. Of course, while in Agra we visited the Taj Mahal; the main sight to see during the three days.

It’s Friday, 2 March as I write this and we arrived in Singapore as the sun started to come up. Singapore is quite close to the Equator so it was automatically both hot and humid; even at sunrise. While I was out the temperature hovered around 90F and the humidity matched it at around 90%. When I first took the camera from the stateroom to the outside to get a sunrise photo it immediately fogged up as the water in the air condensed on the cooler lens filter surface. Very happy I thought to take lens cleaning solution and lint-free pads to use to clean the lens and other sensitive surfaces.

We’re now in Western Australia and the weather is slowly turning around; our interaction with the cyclone is getting less. Esperance was a nice day with clouds and Fremantle/Perth today was blue sky and warm but comfortable.

It’s about 9:45pm on Sunday, 18 Feb 18 (3:15am Sunday Pacific time) as I write this and we have just left Adelaide, Australia. We were here about 14 hours, arriving at 7am. Last night was fairly calm compared with the night before which was heavy rock and roll as we had larger swells and were traveling almost parallel with them so the ship would roll side to side in an exaggerated way. Some people who have sailed the world cruise in the past on the Pacific Princess say this trip is by far the worst for the ship rocking and rolling.

We are presently at the dock in Burnie, Tasmania just across the Bass Strait from Australia. The day’s tours are over and we will be leaving port in a couple of hours. We are docked next to cargo ships as there is no cruise dock in Burnie and so our movements on the dock are very controlled. Just to get into town you have to ride a shuttle; no walking in the cargo area. Security is tight.

Yesterday we were at port in Sydney, Australia. We arrived early; before sunrise, because we had to be docked by around 6am. We were across from the Opera House (see attached photo) but right next to the ferry docks so we had to be in place before they started to get really busy with their daily runs. For the same reason we left late (about 10:30). But, that gave us the whole day in Sydney.
