We’re under the 60 day mark now and time is starting to become more evident. On a personal level I’m done with the vaccinations I picked and have appointments with all the doctors in late December or early January. I’ve also been wearing/breaking in the various clothes I selected for the voyage. Generally it should be warm to hot on the trip so I don’t plan on taking any winter-type clothes. Likely take a jacket that could work should I encounter any cooler weather anywhere as the sole response to that possibility. If nothing else, various ports will have appropriate weather clothes should I not guess right.
The Australian and India visas are approved. I finalized the one for India and the travel agent did the Australia visa. The final visa, Jordan, will be obtained on the ship. That should be it for visas unless our President ticks off more nations enough to cause them to react. 🙁
The laptop computer I’m taking is pretty much configured to handle processing the photos along the way if necessary or, at a minimum, organizing them so I can figure out what’s what on return. Still working on which of the cameras I really need and which I just want. Don’t have room for all so it will be a last minute decision I suspect.
Right now I’m planing on four presentations starting in July 2018 to our Photo Club: The Pacific Ocean area, Indian Ocean region, the Mediterranean, and the rest of the trip back to Los Angeles. It’s to be seen if any of those need to be further dissected.
More later as the details firm up. Hope everyone reading has a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. My personal Christmas letter is about to enter final edit for mailing in (fingers crossed) early December.
